Types of Custody

Indiana's Parenting Time Guidelines include a "presumptive minimum" amount of parenting time: the minimum amount of time the state considers reasonable. These guidelines give the noncustodial parent custody of the children every other weekend and for one midweek overnight.

The guidelines are not appropriate for every situation. For example, if you travel for business, work nights or have an unconventional schedule, the guidelines will not work for your family.
