Capable Representation Against Traffic Violations
The legal team at Leonard, Hammond, Thoma & Terrill, P.C., defends Indiana residents who have been cited for traffic violations or arrested in connection with serious traffic offenses.
If you receive too many tickets, even if they are for minor violations, your license will be suspended. If you are later arrested for driving on a suspended license, the penalties can be even more severe. Our goal is to reduce the immediate negative consequences you face and protect you from potential problems in the future by keeping your record as clean as possible.
When Do You Need A Lawyer?
Indiana divides traffic violations into minor and major offenses. Minor offenses include speeding tickets and other moving violations. Major offenses include:
- Operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol
- Operating a vehicle on a suspended license
- Leaving the scene of an accident
If you receive nine minor traffic violations and one major violation within 10 years, you are labeled a habitual traffic violator and will lose your license for five years. If you are convicted of three major offenses within 10 years, your license will be suspended for 10 years. Habitual traffic violators who are caught driving on a suspended license will lose their licenses for life.
Our lawyers also represent clients who face other driving-related offenses, including:
- Operating while impaired (OWI) and causing serious bodily injury
- OWI and causing the death of another person
- Reckless driving
- Street racing
